Burlington Northern train 123 climbs the steep grade of Mullan Pass with all-Montana Rail Link power as it works through the curves above Austin, Montana, on August 28, 1993. Up front, MRL SD45 No. 358 leads a pair of SD45-2s, with the middle unit still in patched Santa Fe colors. Half way back in the train in the previous curve is a set of four MRL EMDs of a manned helper set grinding upgrade. Helper sets out of Helena in this era were made up of combinations of SD40/SD45/SD45-2 units.
