As time marches on, the railroads have worked hard sterilizing their mainlines by replacing or tearing down history along the right of ways. From signals, to buildings, to signs, as each year passes something disappears. By dumb luck I was looking around Goggle Maps and found this old ex-Rock Island depot along the UP Trenton Sub in Chariton. Here we have the Council Bluffs to Kansas City junk freight hammering up the .80% grade by the depot. Supper glad UP could find the 2 biggest POS units for my only shot. The depot is still use by MofW personnel but is in pretty bad shape. Far from the Rock Island days when the 1st passenger train arrived July 1913.
