Amtrak 68 (Adirondack) passes through the Ardsley-On-Hudson, NY station on the evening of Sunday, August 4, 2019. The train itself is distinguished by its six car consist, the scene by the new Tappan Zee Bridge in the background. Maybe the last weekend to shoot this train this far south for the season.
The Adirondack follows both the Hudson and the Lake Champlain shoreline on its leisurely trip between New York and Montreal. When it started, it was pulled by beautiful ALCO PAs purchased by Delaware & Hudson second-hand from the Santa Fe.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
