Remarks & Notes |
On this day, the former Vietnam cogwheel locomotive HG 4/4 # 704 of the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke (DFB) is pulling a timetabled nearly 70 ton train over the Furka mountain line from Realp to Oberwald. The 800 horsepower most powerful narrow gauge cogwheel steamlocomotive of Europe is pulling train 133 on the 11.0 % grade above Realp towards the Wiler bridge and Tiefenbach. The 0-8-0 T was built in 1923 by the SLM Winterthur for Indochina (later Vietnam) and never ran in Switzerland before. It was brought back to Switzerland in 1990 and after an elaborate rebuilding at Chur and Uzwil it is operational again and approved since december 2018. The cars of the train are ABD # 4554, AB # 4453, B # 4229 and red B # 2206. |
