Rising well before dawn, I made the trek to the hallowed Brickworks Valley (named by railfans, the term is unknown to the local populace) to be rewarded by a pair of QJ's working a maximum tonnage train towards the summit of the Jitong Line. The magical light of the blue hour would soon disappear as the sun's rays were soon to light the hillsides and eventually the valley floor. Like the blue hour, steam on this railway is long gone, but those of us that were there will never forget it.
