Roughly four hours late, the northbound Coast Starlight departs Redding, California. The train is crossing Lake Redding on the impressive Redding Trestle, built at the south end of the Shasta Dam line change. Today, No.14's passengers will get to experience the entire Shasta-Cascade Wonderland by daylight.
