On Saturday, September 7, Vermont Rail System put the veteran ex-Rutland turned Green Mountain Railroad Alco RS-1 #405 into service for the fall season. It re-debuted for the Glory Days of the Railroad festival at White River Jct., VT. On Saturday evening, a special sunset charter took the train to Ely, VT and return to White River Jct. The charter is cruising south along the Connecticut River at Pompanoosuc, VT, over the namesake river joining the Conn River here. This was the northbound trip with the RS-1 on the rear and one of three locations a rainbow of varying intensity made a presence timed with the train at sunset.
For the train and storm chaser. Trains with thunderstorms, dark clouds, rain, lightning, hurricanes - tropical storms, funnel clouds, storm light, rainbows, and snow storms.
