A late morning Amtrak Acela Express, led by No. 2009, rounds the curve northbound through Eddystone, PA, en route to Philadelphia's 30th Street Station. The set is seen approaching the station stop of the same name which is now serviced by SEPTA exclusively. Eddystone, incidentally, was home to the Baldwin Locomotive Works which was located just to the north, about 2,700 feet. The Baldwin Locomotive Works, however, had its own stop at that point, as well. B&O's former station was about 1 mile due north, now long gone. Interestingly, just to the left of this photo, was the location of a Reading freight station which sat at the end of a spur.
