In September 1972, a visit (my first) to Santa Fe's Corwith Yard in southwest Chicago netted a heard of zebras in the form of both black and silver and black and white Illinois Northern Alco S4s in a dead line. They were joined by a handful of FM Santa Fe switchers as well. Illinois Northern was a Santa Fe subsidiary that handled service on some of their industrial trackage in the Chicago area.
