After spending the night at Utah Junction near Pecos Street, Union Pacific’s Big Boy 4014 and train was fired up in the middle of a pre-Thanksgiving blizzard and a foot of snow in the Denver area on November 26, 2019. No. 4014 treads eastward on the Belt Line at Washington Street amid heavy snow to reach the Greeley Subdivision and a northbound trip home to Cheyenne, this backwards move of over 4 miles is being done. Who would ever guess that a UP Big Boy would ever travel over former Rio Grande track—let alone using Belt Line trackage— with four miles in a reverse move during a snowstorm no less!
For the train and storm chaser. Trains with thunderstorms, dark clouds, rain, lightning, hurricanes - tropical storms, funnel clouds, storm light, rainbows, and snow storms.
