On the cold Feburary morning the Norfolk Southern's Executive train NS 955 is coasting across the Tennessee River at Tenbridge as the short train come into town, and head to the crew change point at "Brown" at the end of it's journey down the CNO&TP 2nd District. The rather short train being led by three out of the four F-Units and is heading south to meet up with the top executive at the divison office in Atlanta, GA. Like any other time in 2014, it never came across my mind that in the unforseeable future that the same company that promoted this train with the beautiful carbody locomotives, would be the one to retire them. Most recently under a different executive team at Norfolk Southern Corp. It was announced that the execitive F-Unit would be retired, and put up for sale, well that became a reality in the past few weeks. Precision Schedule Railroading is the business moto in the east, and unfortunalely it's going to stay to say the least. Well I guess I can say that "I'm Glad I Shot This!"
Best shots and/or classic scenes on the of the Norfolk Southern CNO&TP South-End from Danville, KY to Chattanooga, TN. Also includes classic scenes from the former 2nd & 3rd District.
