After plowing the narrow gauge main line east to Cresco, Colorado, Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad’s Rotary OY sits in front of the coaling tower at Chama, New Mexico, on the night of February 29, 2020. Tomorrow will further test the machine on the deepening snows of 10,015-foot Cumbres Pass. Behind the rotary is D&RGW No. 0472, Rotary OY’s water car, and C&TS K-36 2-8-2 No. 487.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
