Our D&RGW #315 special has reached Lava Tank, atop the first mesa SW of Antonito. Unfortunately, the tank has been out of service for many years, so our thirsty non-superheated locomotive will need to take water from a water car parked on the "shoo-fly" track which links the upper and lower levels of Lava Loop. So, at our water stop we're treated to this view of Lava Tank from behind our train. The Sangre de Cristo mountains are across the arid valley in the far distance to the SE.
