John Street roundhouse was once a major CPR facility for servicing in downtown Toronto near the waterfront. Gradually, it lost it significance once Toronto Yard was built and VIA constructed it's Toronto Maintenance Facility in nearby Mimico, ON. At this date, it still maintained MLW switchers such as the 7047 and the occasional road power. Today it houses the Steam Whistle Brewery and an assortment of historic rail equipment and displays attracting tourists at the base of the CN Tower, isolated from any connecting tracks.
