“Hagerstown Chop” Seen here at Port Covington Yard in April 1981, WM 6416 was built in 06/1957 (B/N=23906) as WM 41. One of seven units (39-45) of WM class DS-27, it participated in WM’s “Wide Vision Cab” program, having its nose chopped at Hagerstown in 02/1966. In 1976 it was renumbered under Chessie System from 41 to 6416. It was sold for scrap in 03/1987, but not before finally receiving Chessie System’s yellow, vermillion and blue colors.
