Hello Again, Hello. Amtrak 707 (P32AC-DM, Phase III) leads a short train through the Marble Hill neighborhood of Manhattan over MTA Metro-North Railroad Hudson Line on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 14, 2020. The old New York Central substation in the background is no longer in use, but for the time being still stands as a useful landmark. Although there is no plan to bring Amtrak service back to Grand Central Terminal in the near future, engineers and conductors have to makes a certain number of trips over railroad territory to stay qualified on an annual basis. While regular Amtrak service to GCT ended in 1991 in favor of New York's Penn Station, there have been several emergency and planned blocks of trips to the east side since that time.
