Transiting this morning from Pistoia and heading north, here is the legendary "Arlecchino" ETR-250. This is the only one of the four rapid electric trains of the 1960s that survived the demolition and has now returned to service, restored and technologically updated, to transport passengers along itineraries of historical and landscape importance, managed by the Italian State Railways Foundation which preserves the historical heritage.
I should add that this four-element train when it was born maintained the technical and aesthetic approach of the predecessor ETR-300 called "Settebello", an electric train born in the mid-1950s made up of seven elements.
One of these ETR-300 surviving the demolition is currently under complete restoration, soon we will see it run again .....
