Remarks & Notes |
The masterpiece of the SLM (Swiss Locomotive and Machine Works) Winterthur (in 1923) and the many volunteers of the Chur and Uzwil workshop of the DFB (from 2006 to 2018), the four-cylinder compound cogwheel locomotive HG 4/4 # 704 with the Winterthur cogwheel drive system, presents itself in the Furka DFB station after turning on the turntable. The locomotive was on its way back to its home depot in Realp with an empty train from the jubilee event in Gletsch. The locomotive engineer M.H. was part of the expedition team in Vietnam in 1990, when the locomotive was brought back to Switzerland more or less as scrap metal. On this day, the locomotive is on its way with especially beautiful lanterns from the private collection of the engineer.
