Remarks & Notes |
On the last day of the 2020 season, the heavy 0-8-0 T cogwheel steamlocomotive HG 4/4 # 704 (built by SLM in 1923) is pulling train 133 from Realp over the Furka pass to Oberwald. The train entered the rack section with 11.0 % incline shortly, the engineer opened the throttle wide and a large steam cloud rise into the sky. The temperature after a cold spell two days before was slightly below 0 degrees Celsius (32 F). The cars of the train were first/second class AB # 4462, second class/baggage BD # 2503 and second class B # 4222 and # 4233, weight with passengers about 63 ton. This is slightly more then what the "standard" locomotive HG 3/4 is allowed to pull. |
