UP 1413, the last ex-Southern Pacific GP40-2 to wear its original roman lettering, basks in evening light provided by an adjacent storage facility in Anaheim. While this particular side (the engineer's) of the unit has had the letter fade so much it is almost not visible anymore, the fireman's side lettering is clear as day...well. At least it was until it eventually succumbed to local, Southern California "artists" and their cans of graffiti. Sadly, the roman lettering can no longer be seen.
