I believe I was on the way to work at Marquette and happened to time out this meet at the west end of the Beth Siding back in 1999. A westbound IC train is working towards Waterloo at sunrise. The train is sporting a few IC SD40's units along with some geeps. This combo lasted for awhile in the Iowa Division back in the late 90's after the IC took the CCP back over in 1996. Beth siding has since been decommissioned in 2018.
Scanned Slide from September 1999.
Railroading is a 24 hour a day business, that never sleep. From sunset to sunrise the railroad must run. These image are taken by some of the best rail photographer out their.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
