"Allegra" ABe 8/12 # 3513 is pulling the rather short regional train 1617 from St.Moritz to Tirano along the Lago Bianco (White Lake reservoir) on the Bernina pass on about 2250 meter a.s.l. The train is just rounding the curve of the Val dal Bügliet, called Jossum curve. The Val dal Bügliet is the language border between the Romansh speaking Engadin and the Italian or pusc'ciavin speaking Puschlav. Val dal Bügliet is Romansh and means: valley of the fountain (reduction of wells). In the language of the railwaymen, however, the curve is actually only called the Jossum curve. The Baraccin Jochum is a small stone house on the inside of the curve, still on the municipal area of Poschiavo. I don't know if the Baraccin is still owned by the Jochums, it is very rarely inhabited in summer. In winter with much snow all the baraccine disappears under the snow and there is nothing more to see.
