As viewed from the Jefferson Ave overpass, downtown St. Louis and city's famed Arch immediately welcome ZDUNP 09 and its nearly 10,000 feet consist of both domestic and international container traffic as the train makes its usual afternoon entrance into Missouri after dropping off the MacArthur Bridge crossing from the Illinois side. Under guidance from one of UP's veteran EMD SD70Ms, today's Dupo to North Platte, NE bound intermodal moves tepidly amongst the bustling metropolis scene beginning its westward trek across the state on the railroad's Jefferson City Subdivision. Off to the left, a TRRA tie gang heads to clear up after a day of maintenance work on the Terminal High Speeds at and around the Amtrak Station. Used lightly by TRRA themselves, this triple track main also features traffic from BNSF trains that are routed off their "K-Line" at North Market for access to Lindenwood Yard and both the Cuba and River Subdivisions. Ever further so to the left is the city's Metrolink commuter line running from Lambert Airport (north) and Shrewbury-Lansdowne (south), across the river to Shiloh.
