The Unexpected Leader. MTA Metro-North Railroad GP35R 106 (ex-Conrail 2274, née-Pennsylvania Railroad 2274 GP35, 5/1964) tows P32AC-DM 218 and its consist through the station in Irvington, New York on the way to the Croton Harmon Shops on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 22, 2020. The overpass bridge was named in memory of Irvington Police Department Officer George Duggan who was killed in the line of duty in 1929. While the structure itself in new, an overpass bridge has crossed over the tracks here for well over a century.
With three lines radiating north out of Grand Central Terminal plus service to Port Jervis on the former Erie, Metro North covers a wide swatch of New York's northern suburbs with varying terrains.
