Pulling Through The Fog. Snow still covers much of the ground as Amtrak 22 (Texas Eagle) pulled into Springfield, Illinois on Monday, January 4, 2021. Amtrak 146 (P42DC) hauls both Webb Rail's former Northern Pacific Railway Budd built Pullman dome/sleeper 313 (WEBX 801044) and former Northern Pacific Railway Budd built dome/coach 549 (WEBX 801045) in front of the consist. The 1895 Chicago and Alton Railroad built station (later Gulf, Mobile, & Ohio) is one of three still standing in the city, along with The Lincoln Depot (Great Western Railroad, 1852) and Springfield Union Station (Illinois Central Railroad, 1898).
