After a good snow fall in the area during Christmas, GSMR 1755 leads the days trip to the Nantahala Gorge over the Tuckasegee River to begin the climb up to the gorge. Originally, this trip was suppose to be powered by their steam engine, which with the snow was the main reason for me driving up here. As I discovered upon arriving, the steam engine was no where to be seen since a component on the pilot broke on Christmas Eve & no announcement was made that it was done for the year. While I was admittedly was quite mad at the time, I wasn't going to waste the trip up here & wanted to come away with something.
