Cubes On The Cuyahoga. The Flats Industrial Railroad is a Class III railroad in the heart of Cleveland, Ohio. The line went through a long history of Class I operation with railroads, with successor ownership from Conrail until 1996 when the FIR was created. The line is so named for serving customers in the Flats area of Cleveland. Since the summer of 2020, the line has been idle, leaving an uncertain future. On the night of Wednesday, February 3, 2021, FIR 1202 (SW1200) and 1222 (SW1500) sit by the lift bridge that leads to their interchange partner, Norfolk Southern.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
