Norfolk Southern for several years now has been on a rampant charge to store and disregard thousands of locomotives the railroad has deemed to be outdated or inefficient. Problems can range from massive electrical failures to crew discomfort, but regardless - a sad sight for railfans. On November 7th, 2020 - the line was smaller than it had been, vacant of the SD60's and SD70M's that plagued it earlier. Now - it is mainly occupied by SD70M-2's, ACU's, and older Dash-9's that aren't due for rebuilding. In a few months time, the line would be accompanied by another large portion of the SD70ACU fleet, when NS decided to store and sell them in early February, 2021.
