At 6:22 a.m. on May 6, 2019, Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014 and Northern No. 844 power a westbound passenger special, going to the 150th anniversary of the driving of the golden spike, into Granger, Wyoming. The rising sun that has just cracked the horizon, and with temperatures in the low 30s this spring morning, condensing steam exhaust, rails and the train itself reflect the beautiful colors of daybreak.
The reason railpictures.net has captured my imagination for so many years. Images of quality and distinction, in other words, amazing railroad photography.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
