This year, when the Rigi Bahnen, or more precisely the Vitznau-Rigi-Bahn, are celebrating 150 years of the first cogwheel mountain railway in Europe (1871 to 2021), the famous steamlocomotive H 1/2 # 7 (built 1873) was transported once again from the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne on the rails of the Rigi. This is the first testrun of the locomotive after 12 years, between Arth Goldau and Kräbel on a grade of about 17.0 %. Miss Röösli of association "Rigi Historic" is very fascinated by this only operational cogwheel steam locomotive with a upright boiler. On the left is the snow covered top of the mountain, Rigi Kulm on 1752 meter a.s.l., about 1000 meter higher then we are here.
