On this day, the partially refurbished 2-8-2 steam locomotive 141 R # 73, which had been stored here in the shed for many years, was loaded onto flat cars at the Winterthur depot for rail transport to Vallorbe to its new owner. Here, a truck-mounted crane is used to lift the approximately 25-ton boiler off the chassis. The locomotive was built in 1945 at the Lima Locomotive Works in Lima/Ohio/USA for the French state railroad SNCF and was in service until 1974. It then came into private ownership and was brought to Switzerland in 1998 in individual parts and was partially refurbished here. For financial reasons, the work then came to a halt and the individual parts have since been stored in Winterthur for over 20 years. See also https://railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=611965
