The late afternoon sun blows up the Scotchlite numbers and letters on 3994 as it crosses above Jackson Avenue. A couple of noteworthy structures are included in the photo. In the distance is Campbell Chapel AME Church (built 1920), designed by Louis Hudson Persley, the first black architect registered in Georgia. In the foreground is the very low clearance/flood-prone (huge understatement) Jackson Street railroad underpass. Its designer and builder have avoided the infamy they are due.
