Cogwheel steamlocomotive with upright boiler, unique operational worldwide, H 1/2 # 7 of the Rigi Bahnen (owned by the Swiss Museum of Transport, Lucerne) is on the traverser of the depot Goldau, after a nightly trip down from Rigi Staffel. The iconic locomotive was built in 1873 by the SLM Winterthur (as very first product of this work) for the Rigi Bahn from Vitznau to Rigi Kulm, inaugurated in 1871. Engineer Martin Horath is on the brake lever, while Paul Gwerder is greasing the gear.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
