"Emmitsburg Jct." With 43 loads/3 empties, and a full complement of power, Maryland Midland’s UBHF storms west past the long derelict Rocky Ridge Elevator Company at mp 54.1.
For the convenience of passengers wishing to make a connection with the Emmitsburg Railroad, the Western Maryland Railway station here at Rocky Ridge was renamed to “Emmitsburg Junction” in 1913. Account the demise of the Emmitsburg Railroad in 1940, the station name finally reverted to “Rocky Ridge” by early 1945. The WM station was located in the middle of a wye, on the (now) grassy plot opposite the elevator, on this, the north side, of the tracks.
