Steamtown's 1925 Baldwin built Grand Trunk Western 4-8-2 "Mountain-type" No. 6039 - captured in 2015, during Steamtown's Railfest.
No. 6039 was leased to the Central Vermont Railway in the 1950's and was last steam locomotive in common carrier service in Vermont. She is one of fourteen surviving 'Mountain' types. The locomotive reportedly has bad cylinder castings making it unlikely to be restored to operation. No. 6039 has yet to receive her cab lettering and herald in this photo but it has since been added incorrectly reflecting a freight scheme. It's been suggested that No. 6039 does not have the correct red and yellow herald nor the yellow cab numbers like it wore exclusively in passenger service, instead being done in all white.
