ALCO Safari Day 5, LA&L: After arriving in Avon, 425 and 433 go to work switching Barilla USA. This is not easy work, the inbound flour loads are quite heavy and the curvature of the track here adds to the resistance, both units are working hard. LAL 425 began life as New Haven 2557, and was built 1/1965.
New York state has the largest number of ALCO diesel locomotives working in everyday service. Here are some of them. Soon I hope to chronicle all of them.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
