"R211A Clearance Testing at Rockaway Park"
On the night of August 23rd, 2021, the first Kawasaki built MTA New York City Transit R211A subway cars (4060-4064) began clearance testing on the system starting on the IND Rockaway Line. The train is seen turning at the line's western terminal, Rockaway Park–Beach 116th Street before heading east to Mott Avenue.
With the introduction of this new model of subway railcar, several tests must be performed before the rest of the huge order is built. One of these tests includes clearance testing, which involves running the new train through most of the system to ensure it meets all clearance restrictions.
