One of the volunteers of the New Mexico Steam Locomotive & Railroad Historical Society, the group that for more than 20 years has worked to restore Santa Fe 2926 back to operating condition, spots the 975,000 pound 4-8-4 as it struts up and down the track at "World Headquarters" with ease. Following the installation of insulation and sheet metal jacketing, there will be nothing to hold back the locomotive's 80-inch drivers from thundering down the mainline once again...something that hasn't been seen since the 1950's.
