First And Last. On June 15, 2021, P42DC AMTK 161 (Phase I) and ALC42 AMTK 300 (Phase VI) sat in Chicago's Amtrak Yard after the Refreshed Superliner Interiors event. The AMTK 161 replaces the 40th Anniversary Phase I painted 156, which was damaged in an accident, while AMTK 300 is the first Phase VI and first ALC 42 engine in the fleet. AMTK 300, which had arrived on June 14, 2021 on Amtrak Train 6 (California Zephyr) recently returned to Chicago, IL for high speed testing.
