Cogwheel railcar Bhe 1/2 # 22 of the Pilatus Bahnen is just reaching the station Pilatus Kulm, running up from Alpnachstad as train CC 23. The Pilatusbahn with a maximum grade of 48 % is the world's steepest cogwheel railway and the only using the unique Locher system. Most of the railcars were built in 1937, when the line was electrified, and will be replaced in 2023 by 8 new Bhe 2/2 railcars of StadlerRail. The first of them, # 41, could be seen on a test run this day.
