Santa Maria Valley Railroad 205 gets some smoke on the stack as it departs Lebanon, Oregon, in a dramatic scene with a four-car, holiday-themed train. Built in 1908, the depot seen to the right of the train at Lebanon originally served this line that was constructed by the Southern Pacific Railroad. Retired in the 1950's from passenger duties, the depot continued as a base for crews and freight operations until 1985. In 1996, the City of Lebanon purchased the structure from the SP and has owned it since...having now place over a million dollars into the 100+ year old building to renovate it. The freight house section now houses city council meetings. This run of 205 is one of only a handful that the locomotive has made since returning to active service earlier in 2021.
