A preview of coming attractions at Moore Haven. In a sort of preview of what's to come, US Sugar Locomotive #148 and her passenger train pull into the Central Florida town of Moore Haven on a sunny and uncharacteristically COLD Sunday in January, of 2022. US Sugar has restored the 148 and is now in the process of restoring a series of passenger coaches which will shortly constitute the nation's newest steam tourist train. Although the so-called "Sugar Express" will be based on Clewiston, to the south, one of the featured destinations for that train will very likely be right here in Moore Haven, which is one of the largest towns along the line. In this image, we see the train crossing the swing bridge over the Caloosahatchee Canal, with the Moore Haven Yacht Club just behind it. The image was captured from the pedestrian walkway on the Highway 27 bridge, which is a spectacular spot from which to watch all of US Sugar's train activity.
