We lost a great person in the railroad community this week. On March 30, Trains Magazine Editor in Chief Jim Wrinn passed. Here we see him in better times, recreating the shot he'd always wanted to since he was a kid. The Trains Magazine cover was shot with this very locomotive, with a brakeman on the exact same stirrup as Jim, in the same position. A true dream come true for a life long railfan.
While I hadn't known Jim Wrinn as long as some, in the past two years that I have, it has been a great trip with journeys across the hinterlands of New Mexico, the Silvery San Juan Mountains of Colorado, journeyed at home right to the edge of The Grand Canyon. It was short, but thanks for the memories, and the new friends I have found since then.
