On a cloudless February day, Strasburg Rail Road’s 44-tonner 33 delivers the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania’s latest acquisition. Amtrak’s PRR-painted GG1 4935 has just arrived from Wilmington, Delaware, where it has been stored since retirement. On the extreme right is the original GG1, PRR 4800, glistening from a fresh restoration. Unfortunately, “old rivets” has severely deteriorated in the 40 years since this photo.
