Darkness falls over the Illinois River in Watts, OK as a northbound empty oil train heads north on a cool May 22, 2022 evening. I've seen trains at this location many times, but this was my first time camping out there. It was a very pleasant evening, although the train traffic was a bit sparse.
The reason railpictures.net has captured my imagination for so many years. Images of quality and distinction, in other words, amazing railroad photography.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
