For the first time in a number of years, CSXs Office Car Special graced the Philadelphia area in good morning sunlight. Bound for Selkirk and points west, the train comes off the Philadelphia Subdivision at Laurel Hill, crossing over the Schuylkill River. Unlike many previous trips to the Philly sub, the OCS locomotives and cars are painted in a B&O inspired livery. A fitting homage to the B&O passenger trains which once graced these rails.
CSX has diverse passenger operations that include office car specials, trips to major events like the Kentucky Derby, track geometry trains and the annual Santa Claus train over the northern section of the fallen flag Clinchfield Railroad.
