The King. The newest Amtrak wrap appeared on the last week of July, 2022. Advertising “Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience” in black and gold, AMTK 606 (ACS-64) saw its Phase V paint covered for the second time as this unit was also used for the Coca-Cola wrap. The exhibit runs through February 6, 2023 at the National Geographic Museum in Washington D.C., through October 2, 2022 at the SoWa Power Station in Boston and will later visit other North America cities. On Sunday, August 7, 2022, Amtrak Train 162 passes the former New Haven Railroad tower in the Oak Point section of the Bronx, New York with AMTK 606 (“King Tut”) leading, just over a week into what Amtrak announced to be its 60 day time on the motor to end of September 30, 2022.
The Northeast Corridor cuts through four New York counties on its brief stretch to the Connecticut Line east of Port Chester. There are several photo opportunities along the route.
