Coming Together. As part of the Heritage Rail Alliance (HRA) 2022 Conference, the group visited the Railroad Museum of New England (RMNE) in Thomaston, Connecticut. The recently overhauled NAUG 859 (née-NW 859, GP9, 6/1959) made its public debut to pair with NAUG 686 (née-NW 686, GP9, 3/1959) on a special excursion train. The group took a minute to pose in front of the former New Haven Railroad Thomaston Station, one of the RMNE’s first projects. The HRA is comprised of rail oriented museums/operations that are for the benefit of the public, facilitates the exchange of resources and information between the organizations, and during this conference they visited serval locations in Connecticut, including Valley Railroad, Connecticut Trolley Museum, Shore Line Trolley Museum, an Danbury Railroad Museum.
