Following days of prep at Amtrak's Redondo Junction locomotive servicing facility, AMTK 203, wearing a commemorative paint scheme celebrating Operation Life Saver's 50th Anniversary, eases off the ex-Santa Fe turntable and prepares to join Santa Fe 3751. The following day, the 203 and 4-8-4 would travel to Fullerton to take part in Amtrak's first "Amtrak Track Safety Community Event." In the background, a lineup of fellow P42's looks on - a scene that isn't too far away from fading into the history books as Amtrak continues to take delivery of new SC-44 Chargers from Siemens.
