A particularly bitter Canadian winter took its toll on the railway and left Symington yard beyond congested. CN began to detour North/Westbound freights eastbound at Duluth Jct to Thunder Bay to be reblocked prior to heading westbound to its normal route and bypassing Symington. This was a valuable opportunity to get winter shots on the normally dead Kashabowie Sub along with traffic you wouldn’t normally see. Here, one such freight M345 departs Thunder Bay for points west.
